JOIN US FOR A CATSWOMEN HIKE OF COOK MOUNTAIN ON SATURDAY, JUNE 15TH, AT 10 AM.
CATSWomen is a volunteer-led group that offers a welcoming environment for women of all ages and abilities to gain confidence in the outdoors through Champlain Area Trails. Check out this 3-mile hike up Cook Mountain. The trail is a moderately challenging hike with 944 feet of elevation gain in 1.5 miles. Cook Mountain’s open ridge provides exquisite views of northern Lake George, the Champlain Valley, and Vermont’s Green Mountains. The Summit Trail passes through a variety of habitats from moist wetlands and overgrown farmland to mixed hardwood/coniferous forest and dry rocky-summit grassland.
TIME: Meet at the trailhead at 9:45 am. This hike should take about 2 and a half hours.
WHAT TO BRING: Dress in good wicking layers, and be prepared for bugs and mud. Remember to bring snacks and water!
DIRECTIONS: The trailhead is off Baldwin Road in Ticonderoga.
REGISTER: There is limited space. Email Torey@champlainareatrails.com to register for the hike. We offer our outdoor educational programs for free, thanks to our generous donors. Your support is crucial for us to continue providing these programs in the future. We would be grateful for your donation today!
