This workshop examines how to build communities of inclusion and cultural competence through interactive reflection on identities and challenges participants to unpack the power of assumptions revealing how micro-aggressions and implicit bias impact interpersonal interactions on our college campuses and in our lives.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Awareness of and appreciation for one’s multidimensional identities
2. Understand the power of assumptions and how to detect, reflect, and reject implicit biases
3. Understand what a microaggression is and how it manifests
4. Learn the value of pro-voice dialogue and how to engage in it
