Hague Historical Society presentation at the Hague Community Center about the graphite mines of Hague. Come hear about how graphite was discovered and how it was mined, what life was like in the settlement of Graphite -- with a population of workers from as far distant as France, Germany, Russia, Poland and Italy. Hear stories about the 'dangers' of transporting payroll, what happens when someone falls off the wagon and how a horse named Bob stole the show. And these are just SOME of the stories that accompany the museum exhibit that also opens June 27. See you there!
