Description
We’re always looking for ways to engage our local community in history and education, and with our ample shoreline frontage on the bay and lake - and a staff of fisherman - Crown Point State Historic Site is perfectly positioned and pleased to present ice fishing clinics for youth aged 7-17.
Use your winter break to fish with friends and learn about the long-loved tradition of ice fishing on Lake Champlain.
We: supply all the gear you’ll need for the day line, tip ups, jigs, cleats, hand-warmers, sunscreen, bait and buckets.
You: dress in layers, have hat, gloves, waterproof boots and a bag lunch.
Our site staff will teach the basics of rigging and setting up a tip up and baiting. Snacks will be generously provided by Stewarts Shops.
We can’t promise they’ll bite…but we’ll try our best to send you home with a fish!
Please register with kris.jarrett@parks.ny.gov or call (518) 597-3666 (registration is free, participants will be limited to 20 for each session.)
If cancellations are necessary due to COVID or predicted weather conditions, we will do so 48 hours ahead of event.
We look forward to a great day out on the ice of Bulwagga Bay!
