Join members of the NextGeneration Committee on Saturday, June 30 from 8am- 12pm as we walk into LGLC’s Amy’s Park with ornithologist and licensed guide Alan Belford.
This event is exclusive and will be limited to 20 people! All ages welcome!
The variety of habitats encompassed by Amy’s Park attracts a wide array of bird species, and the site has risen in prominence among birdwatchers in recent years as a result. Join ornithologist, writer, educator, and guide Alan Belford for a morning walk exploring the forests and wetlands of Amy’s Park where we will search for wetland species like Wood Duck and American Bittern as we discover a diversity of thrushes, grosbeaks, vireos, tanagers, flycatchers, and warblers such as Nashville, Blackburnian, Magnolia, and Black-throated Blue. We will meet at the main parking area for Amy’s Park and walk the gravel roads and trails.
The walk around Amy’s Park is about 3 miles of mainly flat road (Padanarum to Trout Falls) around the ponds. Depending on conditions and timing, the route might loop back to the trailhead on Amy’s trail which is an easy, sloped and wooded one-track trail.
