Join the Lake George Land Conservancy for our Living Lands summer presentation series. Each week, we will take an exclusive and up-close look at the people, history and wildlife of the lands of Lake George and the Adirondacks, past and present. This week will be focused on the trees that are found in the Adirondacks. Trees hold a key place in the Web of Life here on Earth. With them, all beings have air to breathe, soil to live and grow upon, water and rain to cleanse and nourish, and the ability to transform the light and fire of the sun into food and nutrients for all of Life. Humans have revered and honored them in all traditions and cultures for millennia without the science to explain it all. And now, through science, we are learning that trees form a network of connection, communication and co-creation beneath the soil surface ~ the true World Wide Web. We’ll look at the beautiful variety of trees that are home here in the Lake George Watershed, and the value of “Protecting the Land that Protects the Lake”.
