Synopsis: Principal Jonathan Dorn (Quentin Gargan) is ecstatic that Northwood Central has been chosen as the focus of a new PBS documentary. After all, Northwood is the best school in the North Country--if you ask Dorn, that is. But a visit from State Ed. brings some sobering news: Northwood is on “the list” and its closure could be imminent. With the help of bumbling algebra teacher Zack Block (Alexander Fingland), beleaguered football coach and history teacher Nate Hanson (Hayden Dedrick), lovestruck English teacher Emily Collins (Kathryn Moran), and the rest of his staff, Principal Dorn is tasked with rallying his school community and compelling state field representative Fiona Ketch (Aurelia Leerkes) to convince the state to reconsider. But could Dorn’s own past be an insurmountable hurdle?
Complete with spirited cheerleaders, rebellious students, awkward parent conferences, and even Gorilla Glue, Alma Mater is a tale loaded with hilarity and heart--a real North Country comedy to which we can all relate.
