The Uptown, local authors book signing event, sponsored by Hague Historical Society
The Hague Historical Society will host a reception and book signing on Friday evening, July 27 from 5-8 pm at the Uptown building on Route 8 in Hague, next to the Firehouse Restaurant. At least 13 authors will be at the event, signing copies of their books and answering questions from guests. This is an excellent opportunity to meet some of the local authors who write about our region.
Hague, nestled on the peaceful shores of northern Lake George, has long been home to a wide range of artists and authors who find inspiration in this idyllic town. From 1917 until about 1928, the New York City-based Pen and Brush Club owned a house in Hague with accommodations for up to 15 overnight guests. Membership in the club was open to women who earn their living from the arts. Still today, many writers make their home in Hague or are frequent visitors to the town.
Everyone is invited to the book signing event, which is free of charge. Light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served. The authors attending the event are
