Landscape Technician / Gardener / Crew Member

Job Purpose:
The purpose of this job is to help the company grow and make a profit by:

  • Performing tasks efficiently and profitably
  • Using materials and tools efficiently

  • Ensuring customer satisfaction and company image
  • Continuously looking for better ways to do the work
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performing tasks efficiently and profitably
  1. Be efficient in the yard each morning and afternoon to ensure that the necessary tools & materials to complete jobs are loaded on the trucks.
  2. Learn and gain working knowledge from foreman or head gardener.
  3. Understand crew goals set by the foreman or head gardener each day so the work gets completed in a timely manner.
  4. Continually improve on skills and education.
  • Using materials and tools efficiently
  1. Follow systems in place so all employees and crews work in a similar manner.
  2. Understand which tools to use in specific circumstances so work is completely correctly and efficiently.
  3. Use tools and equipment properly so that they are not damaged
  • Work safely
  1. Discuss safety concerns with foreman or head gardener each morning and whenever it is necessary
  2. Use tools and equipment correctly for their intended use.
  3. Report any accidents or injuries immediately to foreman or head gardener
  4. Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment for the job at hand (Safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, pants and company shirt)
  • Customer satisfaction and company image
  1. Make sure to be dressed appropriately and uphold our image.
  2. Make sure trucks and equipment are being kept clean each day so our company has a good image.
  3. Follow the company culture and professionalism so that our company stands out from the rest.
  4. Meet or exceed Foreman of Head Gardener’s expectations at each property or project.
  5. Keep a positive attitude.
  • Continuously looking for better ways to do the work
  1. Provide ideas to foreman on a daily basis on how to improve our operations.
 
Success Measures
  • Positive feedback from foreman
  • Limit warranty work-Complete Work Satisfactorily
  • Limit accidents and work safely
  • Positive attitudes and image
  • Clean trucks and equipment
  • Satisfied customers-0 complaints
  • Continuously improve working knowledge, skills with necessary training
