The Hancock House Museum (administered by The Lower Adirondack Regional Center for History) has a position available for a temporary part-time staff person (24 hours/week, 6 hours/daily) for summer 2025 (mid-June through August). The Hancock House Museum is a four-story historic house museum, open to the public. The museum houses a collection of approximately 4,000 artifacts, 7,000 books and manuscripts, and other original materials relating to the history of the Adirondacks and Lake Champlain Basin Region. In addition to its exhibit space, the Historical Society
engages in an active plan of community outreach, programs and lectures. This position works primarily with visitor services, providing tours and working in the gift shop, but requires administrative and research library assistance as well. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary. Knowledge of Past Perfect is an advantage, but not required. The ability to work cooperatively with both paid staff and volunteers within a non-profit environment is of great importance. Weekend work is required. This position can be structured to fulfill academic internship requirements, if desired.
