Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC)

 

Reports to: Business Unit Manager

 

Roles:

  • Acts as liaison between the operations and maintenance department
  • Leads effort to improve overall effectiveness and efficiency of their area by focusing all resources at their disposal on the efficient execution of planned work
  • Filters required work from the desired work
  • Communicates the status of the work order with the originator

 

Responsibilities

  • Safety/Housekeeping:
    • Promotes a safe working environment and safe work practices
    • Coordinates 5S effort and housekeeping expectations
    • Communicates safety/housekeeping issues at planning and scheduling meetings
    • Coordinates lockouts with operating department counterparts
  • Involvement in Daily MWS Process:
    • Leads daily MWS meeting
    • Ensures MWS scorecard compliance
    • Reviews work requests to determine required action
    • Reviews and screens work orders to see that the requester has provided the required information (i.e., description of the problem, service function, equipment number, correct coding, work order type, date submitted and cost center)
    • Balance work order priorities based upon knowledge of product demand, management direction and production expectations
    • Provide Planner with weekly planning priorities
    • Audits completed maintenance/contractor work
    • Communicates job variances from the plan schedule
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Owns Operator Basic Care program
    • Supports the Preventive Maintenance/Predictive Maintenance/Precision Maintenance (PM/PdM/PrM) program.
  • Work Scheduling
    • Ensures PM, PrM, and PdM work are given priority on work schedules
    • Works with MWS team to set priorities for planning and scheduling of all non-emergency work
    • Coordinates the operating department’s process equipment availability with maintenance plans and schedules
